“I WANT TO UPLIFT MARGINALIZED COMMUNITIES”

Nehemiah Brown is an adventure cyclist who thrives on community building and championing diversity & inclusion in cycling. He's completed demanding gravel events like Grinduro, Lost & Found, and Steamboat Gravel, and he's even ridden a mountain bike across the entire state of California. Yet, for Nehemiah, cycling isn't just about competition; it's a means to forge friendships, explore beautiful places, and find comfort in the unknown.

Nehemiah's interests go beyond personal enjoyment. He's deeply committed to promoting racial equity, drawing from his own experiences to understand the challenges faced by underprivileged communities. This drives his mission to make cycling more inclusive.

In 2020, Nehemiah co-launched Ride for Justice, a global fundraiser that raised $100,000+ for the Equal Justice Initiative. Then, in 2021, he was a founding member of Flashpoint MVMNT, a cycling team focused on empowering marginalized communities. This effort offered opportunities and equipment access to those often underrepresented in cycling.

In 2023, Nehemiah established Gift of Gravel, a non-profit that’s already awarded over 50 scholarships. These scholarships let minorities attend cycling events for free, removing financial obstacles to their participation.

Nehemiah's unwavering commitment, both on and off the bike, is driving meaningful change in the cycling community and creating a more inclusive and diverse future for all.
